A common roof drain as seen upon your approach.  This drain is a ZURN Z100 as revealed by its distinctive 'blue' color.   Jay R Smith 1010 drains are a distinctive 'flat gold' in color while Mifab is a 'dull red' color.  At this time the RDDS equipment is specifically mated to this size drains.  PLEASE FORWARD AN INQUIRY TO US IF YOUR DRAIN ISN'T ONE OF THESE SPECIFIC MODELS-Thank you.

The dome has been removed revealing the four bolts which provide the clamping action of the gravel guard a.k.a. clamping collar.  Remove all bolts and the gravel guard and set aside.  TIP: It is often wise to seal the drain off with duct tape-BUT-DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THIS DUCT TAPE or it won't help to de-ice the drain.

The bolts, washers and clamping collar have been set aside and the drain now awaits the new clamping collar for this project.

The new clamping collar is now in place and anchored by two bolts.  The torque on the bolts should match that of the bolts when they were removed.  Do not clamp down overly tight as this may damage the roofing fabric.

The Cabled 6RDDJ22 has been lain upside down on the drain to adjust the de-icing cable loop which is to be installed in the down drain.  Please review 'Cable Length?' for 6RDDJ22 relative to cable routing and length requirements.

The de-icing cable loop has been installed in the down drain.  Each of the de-icing cable loops have been routed through the gravel collar water flow flutes to avoid cable damage due to pinching.

The original clamping collar has been placed on top of the 6RDDJ22.  The two 3-inch long bolts possessing two washer with nut combinations are installed in the remaining two drain bowl holes.  One washer nut combo is directly above the lower red clamping collar and the second set is above the blue clamping collar.  Snug down both of the lower nuts completely securing the lower red clamping collar.

Now snug down the two nuts above the original blue clamping collar to lock the 6RDDJ22 in its place.

The original dome is now re-installed to finish this portion of the Roof Drain De-icing System
